Jeanette Ann Murphy, 78, of Louisville passed away at 6:24 am Sunday, December 3, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Jeanette was born on December 17, 1944, in Cook County, Illinois, the daughter of Floyd and Hazel (Leininger) Wimberly. She married Larry Murphy on February 21, 1964, at the Louisville Christian Church and they shared 59 years of marriage. Jeanette's early career began at Spartan Manufacturing in Flora, where she quickly became known for her diligent work ethic and friendly demeanor. After dedicating herself to the upbringing of her beloved children, Jeanette returned to the workforce, embarking on a rewarding 20-year tenure with Hella Electronics in Flora. Beyond her professional achievements, Jeanette had a passion for the simple pleasures in life. She was an avid gardener, taking pride in her ability to cultivate a vibrant array of vegetables and flowers. Her home was often filled with the scent of freshly canned preserves, a testament to her love for canning and preserving the bounty of her garden. Jeanette's yard was a testament to her dedication, featuring beautifully tended flower beds that brought color and life to her surroundings. One of Jeanette's favorite pastimes was sitting on her front porch, where she found much peace and contentment. It was here that she would often reflect on her day, enjoy the beauty of nature, or simply cherish the quiet moments of solitude. Her love for Hallmark movies was well-known, especially during the holiday season, when she would indulge in the festive cheer and heartwarming narratives that these films provided. Above all, Jeanette's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment she had with them. Her legacy of love, patience, and kindness is evident in the strong family bonds she nurtured and the fond memories that will be forever treasured by her loved ones.
