Dr. Timothy Connelly (74) of Monticello

Dr. Timothy Connelly, 74, of Monticello died on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Heartland Senior Living Center, Neoga.
Dr. Connelly was born August 7,1949 in Danville to Leo and Dolores Holmes Connelly. He married Bobbi Stump in 1991, and she survives.
Other survivors include his three children Chris, Erin, and Patrick, and his two sisters Ellen and Kristin.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Marcia D. Roemer and his parents.
Dr. Connelly attended the University of Illinois until 1970. He graduated from the University of Illinois Medical Center, Chicago in 1974. He completed his internship at Emory University (Grady Memorial Hospital) Atlanta, Georgia in June 1975. He completed his residency at Emory University, General Surgery July 1975-June 1979. His postdoctoral Fellowship in Peripheral Vascular Surgery was from July 1979-June 1980 at Emory University. Dr. Connelly then worked at two Danville, Illinois hospitals until 1987 when he joined Carle Clinic. He worked there until his retirement. Outside of the hospital, he was a true sports fan enthusiast. He was always watching or talking about Fighting Illini Sports or St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
A memorial was held Saturday, November 25 by Father John Titus. The arrangements were handled by Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home, Neoga, IL.
