Corey Alexander Gordon, 18, of Shelbyville, Illinois, tragically passed away in a car accident on November 17, 2023.

Corey, a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend will be remembered for his kind heart and dedication to his family and friends.

Corey was born on July 24, 2005, in Effingham, the beloved son of Joshua David Gordon and Crystal Dawn (Brewer) Keen. Corey was a senior at Shelbyville High School. Despite the untimely loss of his father and best friend on June 25, 2021, Corey showed immense strength and resilience. He lived every day with the aim of making his father proud, a testament to his enduring spirit and love for his family. Corey was following in his father's footsteps, learning to become a talented mechanic. He found joy in working on cars, a passion he shared with his father. Corey also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends. He was often seen with his and his father's beloved dog, Noodles, by his side. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, a quality that endeared him to all who knew him.

Corey is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Crystal and Matt Keen of Shirley, AR; his sisters, Brittany Gordon of Shelbyville and Emma Gordon of Shirley, AR; his niece, Elliana Gordon of Shirley, AR; his grandparents, Lyndell and Kim Brewer of Lakewood and Judy Gordon of Shelbyville. Corey's life was also enriched by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services for Corey will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, also at Lockart-Green Funeral Home. Corey will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery, next to his beloved father. In the wake of this loss, the family appreciates the outpouring of love and support. They also express their gratitude to those who wish to honor Corey's memory with their generosity.
