Edna “Alice” Bushue, age 81, of Mason, Illinois passed away at 12:17p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2023 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Mason Christian Church with a one-hour visitation prior to the service. Mark White will be officiating. Burial will take place at Mason Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023 at Mason Christian Church. Alice was born on September 23, 1941 in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Louis and Hollis (Clark) Hays. She married Stan Bushue on August 3, 1957 in Morganfield, Kentucky; she was the love of his life. She was a loyal member of the Mason Christian Church, where she was known to volunteer for numerous events and countless jobs. She was president of the Mason Christian Academy School board, where she also volunteered for many other jobs. Alice was a bus driver for Unit 40 School District for 33 years. Alice was very active; she was always busy. Alice loved spending time with her family and doing for others. Alice also enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, camping, gardening, bowling, being outdoors, and spending time with her friends. Alice was a Girl Scout leader and caretaker, taking care of her parents until the very end. Alice was a mentor and role model to many.

Alice is survived by her husband, Stan Bushue of Mason; son, Gary Bushue (wife Tina) of Indiana; daughter, Kathy Twomey (husband Tom) of Massachusetts; sisters, Linda Fritz of Normal, IL and Elaine Rundall of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren, Lori Landreth, Josh Aldrich, Shanai Pires, Shailey Pires, Naunie Lewis, Miranda Bushue, Teagan Twomey, Rachael Bushue, Tali Twomey, Mallory Bushue; 8 great-grandchildren, Alison Lappe, Seth Aldrich, Davin Fountain, Brailynn Fountain, Brodan Fountain, Drysen Rivera, Draya Rivera, Willa Lewis and two special babies on the way and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Hollis Hays; daughter, Cindy Aldrich; brothers, Harold Hays and Roderick Hays; sister, Patsy Robertson.
