Merrill D. Marxman, 78, of LaPorte, Indiana, formerly of Effingham died on March 22, 2023 at home in LaPorte.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, June 26 in Bourbonnais.
He was born in Effingham on May 13, 1944 to Valman and Milda (Priess) Marxman.
Merrill spent his career in various areas of agriculture, including working for the USDA in Washington, DC and Bourbonnais, Illinois. He also operated a consulting business for farmers called Marxman and Associates. Upon retirement, he managed multiple farmers markets in the south suburbs of Chicago for communities.
Merrill is survived by his sons, Dean, Brent (Sharon); daughter, Nicole; spouse, Judy; brother, Robert (Bernetta); and many nieces and nephews. His greatest joys were his two granddaughters, Becca and Peyton Marxman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Larry and sister-in-law, Jerri Marxman.
