Earl J. Bushur, 88 of Effingham, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 at his daughter’s home in Altamont.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, May 19, 2023 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to HSHS Home Care & Hospice. Online condolences may be expressed by clicking here.

Earl was born October 5, 1934 in Effingham, the son of Anthony and Clara (Kollmeyer) Bushur. His passion was working on the farm and raising cattle. He also loved and was very proud of his five granddaughters and his great-grandchildren. He never missed a holiday, birthday, or the opportunity to give them a tractor ride or sled down the hill when they visited him. When he wasn’t busy on the farm, he could always be seen driving around the countryside in his blue truck.

Earl is survived by his son, Jason (Larinda) of Thermopolis, WY; daughter, Terriann (Reg) Tharp of Altamont; five granddaughters, Taelir (Darrel) Demas of Casper, WY, Jerah (Reed) Nettles of Riverton, WY, Britta Bushur of Casper, WY, Sydney (Tyler) Niebrugge of Sullivan, and Nicole (Joe) Mette of Teutopolis; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert “Bob” Bushur of Stewardson and Carl Bushur of Effingham; sisters, Marilyn Lane and Diana Pullen, both of Effingham; multiple nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dorothy (Clifford) Bushue, Paul (Betty Jane) Bushur, Loretta (Raymond) Hoelscher, Mildred “Millie” (Paul) Baker, Arthur (Madonna) Bushur, James (Bernice) Bushur, and Gerald (Margaret) Bushur; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bushur and brother-in-law, Joseph Pullen.
