Alice Rose Pruemer (87) of Teutopolis

Alice Rose Pruemer, 87, of Teutopolis died on Friday, May 5th, 2023 at 7:48 am surrounded by her family on her 67th wedding anniversary. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Monday, May 8, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday at the church. Memorials may be made for a new nativity set for St. Francis Church, or Sigel St. Michael’s Building Fund.

 Alice was born on April 20th, 1936 in Effingham County, the daughter of Ferd and Frances (Esker) Probst. She married Bernard Pruemer May 5th 1956, who passed on October 16, 2003. 

Alice worked as a cook at Kountry Kitchen, Knights of Columbus and St. Francis Friary for many years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, St. Francis Council of Catholic Women, St. Francis Home Extension and past officer of Parish Council. Alice also farmed with her husband at the family farm. Some of her favorite pastime activities were working with flowers, traveling, bowling, playing cards, and watching her grandchildren’s activities. She always had a smile on her face and loved to work and stay busy.

Surviving are her children, Cheryl (Tony) Fearday of Sigel, Cathy (Frank) Brummer, Doug (Jodie) Pruemer, and Dave (Tina) Pruemer all of Teutopolis; siblings, sister Lorraine (Jack) Deters, and brother Jerome (Irene) Probst; grandchildren, Jamie Titus, Jodi Bills, Beth Sturgeon, Brenna Fearday, Nick Brummer, Bobby Brummer, Anne Marie Brummer, Michael Brummer, Heather Worman, Kyle Pruemer, Hannah Pruemer, Dylan Pruemer, Tyler Pruemer, and 16 great-grandchildren.   

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Ferd and Francis and her husband, Bernard Pruemer.
