David Jutkins, 64, of Shumway, IL, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, with visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. David was born on August 30, 1958, in Effingham, IL, the son of Walter and Earline (Kruger) Jutkins. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN with a bachelor’s degree in Historical Preservation. David had three articles published, two in the Chicago Art Deco Society Magazine. His third article, “Murfreesboro’s Craftsman Bungalow: The Expression of an Idea” was referenced in several journal articles. David was an avid antique dealer and owned his own business “Oddities.” He was a big dog lover and was such a thoughtful and caring person, always putting others first.

David is survived by his mother, Earline Jutkins of Shumway; brother, Ray Jutkins of Shumway; aunt, Leona Wolf; cousin, Sandra Klitzing; and second cousin, Michael Klitzing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Jutkins; aunt, Evelyn Klitzing; and uncles, Wayne Kruger and Edgar Wolf.
