Carolyn S. Sidwell, 79, of Brownstown, died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2023 at Aperion Care, St. Elmo.
A memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Brownstown. Burial will follow at Pilcher Cemetery, Brownstown. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
Carolyn Sue Sidwell was born on Wednesday, March 8, 1944 in Vandalia, IL to Luke and Pearl (Hatfield) Freeman. She married Dale J. Sidwell on December 15, 1962 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Elmo. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2005. She had previously been employed at Fedders USA, Effingham and at Aperion Care Center, St. Elmo.
She is survived by: her sons, Bryan (Barbara) Sidwell of St. Elmo and Curtis (Tracie) Sidwell of Franklin, MO; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; 2 brothers, Blackie Freeman and Basil Freeman and 1 sister, Sharon.
