Betty Louella Hall, 79, of Montrose, IL, passed away at 11:38 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Heartland Senior Living Center in Neoga, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL with burial in Mullen Cemetery, Montrose. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Betty was born on March 25, 1944, in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Lee and Betty (Ashley) Jamison. She graduated from Effingham High School in 1962. She married Larry Hall in 1962 at the United Methodist Church in Montrose, Illinois. Betty was employed as a switchboard operator with Illinois Consolidated, as a cook at Lakeland Nursing Home, and a postmaster assistant for the United States Postal Service.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and baking for her grandchildren, gardening, tending to her flower gardens, sewing, crocheting, and fishing.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, Larry of Montrose, daughter, Andrea (Randy) Schoonover of Herrick; sons, Larry Carl (Jennifer) Hall of New Knoxville, Ohio, Herbert (Angi) Hall of Neoga, Eric (Julie) Hall of Montrose, Curtis (Natalie) Hall of Montrose, and Jeremy (Rachel) Hall of Montrose; grandchildren, Nathan (Amy) Schoonover, Heather (Kyle) Rounds, Ethan Schoonover (Haven Lorton), Mary Elizabeth Lanier, Matthew Hall, Emily Hall, Evan Hall, Alexander Hall, Abbagayle Hall, Braxton Hall, Seaton Hall, Curran Hall, Victoria Elmore, Jonathon Hall, Andrew (fiancée, Shelly Ruholl) Hall, Anthony Hall, Lucas Hall, Elijah Hall, Caleb Hall, Cody Hall, Kaynen Hall and Alexa Runner-Hall; and great-grandchildren, Aaden, Aubrey and Avery Schoonover and Kolbi Packard and Holden DeWeese. She is also survived by brothers, Joe (Janet) Jamison of Effingham and Steven Jamison of Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George, Vernon, and Gernon Jamison; and sisters, Zula Smith and Rosalie Swett.
