Kristen D. Pryor (46) of Effingham

Kristen D. Pryor, 46 of Effingham, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 27, 2023 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Effingham with burial in Oakridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, and from 10:00 am to time of service, Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham.

Kristen was born April 14, 1977 in Effingham, the daughter of Stanley D. and Alyene (McGuire) Bahrns. She graduated from Effingham High School and later received her bachelor’s degree in graphic design from SIU-Carbondale. Kristen was a valued member of the family business, Bahrn’s Equipment, where she was in charge of the marketing and web development. 

Kristen attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham and was a member of the Art Guild and served on the Youth Board. She enjoyed art work, painting, and decorating. Most of all, Kristen loved being with her family, especially her children, and friends; spending time at Lake Sara and vacationing. 

Kristen is survived by her husband, Jeff Pryor; children, Evan and Kylie; mother, Alyene; brothers, Brent and Blake (Laura) Bahrns; nephews, Colton and Cameron, all of Effingham; mother-in-law, Deborah Pryor of Altamont; brothers-in-law, Jason (Julie) Pryor of Altamont; nieces, Jenna (Gavin) Greenwood and Jessika (Blake) Workman. 

Kristen was preceded in death by her father, Stan Bahrns and father-in-law, Gary Pryor.
