Herbert William “Billy” Andrews, age 44, of West Liberty, Illinois, went home to be with his “Lord and Savior” on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 4:30 AM after a long hard battle with cancer.

Funeral services celebrating Billy’s life will be held at 7:00 PM – Friday, April 7, 2023, at the Potter’s House Ministry in Newton, Illinois, with Ron Mulvey officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Friday, April 7, 2023, at the church. In loving memory of Billy, memorials may be made to family. Billy was born on November 15, 1978, in Mattoon, Illinois, the son of Harry William “Bill” and Donna Christine (Owen) Andrews.

Billy had worked at Lis Grain Elevator and at GSI. He was a member of the Potter’s House Ministry in Newton, Illinois.

Billy had the “gift of gab” like his sister Becky, he always enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Children and animals, they loved him and would go right up to him! He had lots of hobbies including mushroom hunting, fishing, playing pool and cards were among his favorites. He loved fishing with his son Gage William, nephew Kenny Ray, and his friends, our good neighbor Gary, and his cousin and “special buddy” Kirt Andrews. Now Billy and Kirt can fish all they want to in “Heaven”!

Billy is survived by:

Mother, friend and devoted caregiver Donna Andrews of West Liberty, Illinois. Son – Gage William Andrews of Olney, Illinois

Sisters - Becky (Roy) Baum of Palestine, Illinois; Theresa (C. J.) Crocker of Wild Rose, Wisconsin; and Barbie (Ron) Lang of Newton, Illinois.

Special friends Tyler Lindemann and Ali Funneman of Newton, Illinois; Shelia Wynn of Jewett, Illinois; and lots of friends from Newton who he grew up and went to school with and many special cousins.

Billy was preceded in death by his father Harry William “Bill” Andrews, stepfather Paul Andrews, special aunt Susie Brothers and his grandparents.
