Kendall E. Johnson age 52, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham, Illinois.

Services celebrating Kendall’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton with Chris Parr officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Winterrowd Lodge No. 664. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2023, in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, Willow Hill, Illinois.

Kendall was born on July 3, 1970, in Effingham, Illinois the son of Merrill Dean and Jennifer (Loy) Johnson. Kendall graduated from Newton Community High School in 1988. On August 2, 1994, Kendall married Leasa Miller. She preceded him in death on July 15, 2022. He was a supervisor for Quad Graphics in Effingham and co-owned BJ’s Saloon in Newton.

Kendall was member of the Winterrowd Masonic Lodge No. 664 A.F. & A.M., Ainad Temple, East St. Louis and the Jasper County Shrine Club. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting arrow heads and mushrooms. His daughter, Emilee, was the love of his life. He loved his nieces and nephews and was a loyal, faithful friend.

Survivors include daughter Emilee and husband Caleb Chesnut of Evansville, IN; brother Jeff Johnson of Oblong; sister Staci and husband John Hopkins of Effingham; sisters-in-law Laura and John Birch of Newton; Amanda Webster and Randy Hart of Newton; Jamie (Johnny) Bruner of Oblong; nieces and nephews Tiffany and Curtis Will, Garrett Birch and wife Meredith, Conner Webster and Dava Tarr, Caylie Webster, Landon Webster, Xander Ochs and Zoey Ochs; great-nieces and great-nephews Reagan Birch, John Birch, Weston Will and Hattie Wil; his favorite cat, Luna and an extended circle of family and friends.

His parents, wife Leasa, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Roger and Linda Miller preceded him in death.
