Helen Faye Davis Wilson was born on October 26, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois and at 88 years old, made her way home to Heaven on January 5, 2023.

She was the eldest child and only daughter of Noble Clifford Davis and Mary Evelyn Davis. She graduated from Effingham High School in 1952. She married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Wilson of Altamont, Illinois on September 10, 1955 and moved to San Antonio, Texas, where Bob was stationed in the US Air Force. Her greatest joy was her daughter, Jane, born in Okinawa while Bob was stationed at Kadina Air Force Base. Helen was employed as a secretary for several years as she followed Bob to each of his domestic assignments, finally settling in Raymore, Missouri. Her hobbies were knitting, golf and playing the piano. She loved to entertain in her home and was an excellent cook. Helen is a member of the Air Force Sergeant’s Auxiliary, member of the United Methodist Church, and the Rio Red Hat Club of Harlingen, Texas. She retired from the US Government as a Management Analyst and she and Bob enjoyed 23 winters in Harlingen, Texas where Helen greatly enjoyed playing the piano for the Sunshine RV Park’s Kitchen Band. In 2016, Helen and Bob moved from Raymore to Branson, Missouri to be near Jane and her family. She loved making friends and getting to know each person’s story that came into her life. Due to declining health, Helen made one last move to Castlewood Senior Living in Nixa, Missouri where she was surrounded by loving caregivers and friends she made there.

Survivors include her daughter Jane Boone and son-in-law Dan, granddaughters Mallory (Byron) Richardson of Kirbyville, Lindsay (Levi) Skinner of Springfield, Lauren (Chandler) Lyon of Ozark, Missouri, one great granddaughter, Maylee Richardson and brother Charlie Davis of Effingham, Illinois, along with two nephews and several beloved cousins.

Her husband, parents and one brother, Brad Davis, preceded her in death. She loved being an Air Force wife and often said “I’d like to do it all again!”. Special thanks to Carole Compton and Sharon Hill who both provided many hours of private care for Helen during her health decline.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM, on April 14, 2023 at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson. A private interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
