Chad Everett Wilcox, 54, of Mode, IL, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, March 12, 2023 in his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023 in Glenwood Cemetery, Bluff Addition, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.
Chad was born on August 26, 1968 in Pana, IL, the son of William Glenn and Madeline Ramona (Spicer) Wilcox. He graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1986 and attended Lake Land College. Chad was a forklift driver for P & H Manufacturing in Shelbyville for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering and caring for his best four-legged friend, Diesel.
He is survived by his daughters, Corine Cox (Jesse) of Mattoon, IL and Taylor Wilcox of Casper , WY; son, Jordan Hatfield of McKinney, TX; father, Glenn Wilcox of Mode, IL; sisters, Cherri Ruff (Danny) of Mode, IL and Diane Myers (Mark) of Greenup, IL; brothers, Mike Wilcox (Chris) of Pana, IL and John Carter (Jude) of Effingham, IL; grandchildren, Wyatt Everett Cox, Madeline Ann Cox and Kyran Evan McCall; nieces, Stephanie Coventry (Josh), Deana Finks (Scott Cutler), Shannon Smith (J.P.)and Kaci Davis (Tyler); nephews, Zach, and Jake Carter and Aaron Koester; several great nieces and nephews; best friend, Chad Hall; and many friends that were always there when Chad needed them.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Madeline in March of 2013; and niece, Danyelle Marie Cushman in November of 1988.
