On Thursday, March 9th, 2023, Alene G. McPeak, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 88, in Winter Haven, Florida.

Alene was born on June 7th, 1934 in Hord, Illinois to Howard and Elva Kincaid, the youngest of 3 children. Her bothers Ansil and Dean Kincaid preceded her in death. She married Osa T. McPeak, Jr. (Mac) on June 29th, 1950. They were just 20 days short of their 60th anniversary when Mac preceded her in passing by 12 years. He has been patiently waiting in heaven for her.

She is survived by her three children; Robert L. McPeak, (wife Tina) of Swansea, Illinois, Randall H. McPeak, (special friend Jan) of Clover, South Carolina, and Linda C. Bower, (husband Bob) of Auburndale, Florida. She also has 10 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. Alene was a fiercely loving wife, mother and religious person. She was also a hard worker for her entire life. Besides being a church secretary, she worked at the Olney Daily Mail around 1970 and sold Avon. However, her longest job was as a Mary Kay consultant, which she did for 50 years. She loved to cook and had a plethora of comfort food recipes that she gathered from friends and family. She made a cook book of her favorite recipes for her children and grandchildren. She spent her last couple of years living with her daughter, Linda, in Auburndale, Florida as she struggled with health issues. She passed peacefully in her sleep as her last stroke was for her to recover.

She has requested a small, close family only service at Toliver Cemetery in Louisville, Illinois. Flowers or donations are not requested, but comforting thoughts for the remaining family are appreciated. The McGriff Funeral Home in Louisville is entrusted with the care and arrangements.
