Martha was born on September 15, 1948, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Cletus and Agnes (Grunloh) Brummer of Bishop Creek. She married Mike Fearday on January 15, 1972.

Martha valued nothing more in life than her family and her faith in God. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to play with her grandchildren and go hiking, biking, and baking an endless supply of cookies. Martha found joy in cheering on her kids and grandkids in their athletic and scholastic endeavors. Her greatest love was her husband, Mike, with whom she recently celebrated their 51st Anniversary.

She was a devoted member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and participated in a prayer group with the same “gaggle” of faithful women for decades. She loved attending daily mass and prided herself on raising her children in the Catholic faith.

She loved to spend time outdoors, gardening, camping, and walking in God’s creation. She never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to anyone and everyone. She simply loved people and loved to laugh. Martha was always looking for ways to care for others from the youngest to the oldest of God’s children.

Martha is survived by her husband, Mike Fearday; her four children Kriss (Cari) Fearday of Sigel, Stan (Shari) Fearday of Sigel, Greg (Molly) Fearday of Effingham, and Teri Miller of Montrose; and her 18 grandchildren Peyton, Kaden, Colton, and Brock (Kriss and Cari), Emma, Adam, Avery, and Evan (Stan and Shari), Lucy, Will, Mike, Ella, and John (Greg and Molly), and Harrison, Ava, Graham, Simon, and Livian (Teri and the late Brian Miller). She also leaves behind ten siblings, Rich (Maureen) Brummer, Gene (Ruthy) Brummer, Mary (Mike) Thoele, Alice (Gene) Drees, Herman (Sharon) Brummer, Tony (Judy) Brummer, Marge (Mark) Bierman, Phyllis (Bill) Jansen, Frank (Cathy) Brummer, and Lynne (Greg) McWhorter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cletus and Agnes Brummer; father- and mother-in-law, Bill and Eleanor Fearday; son-in-law, Brian Miller; granddaughter, Lily Miller; and sister, Rita Fearday.
