Donna Louise Rohwedder, 84, of Teutopolis, IL, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the Glenwood Assisted Living of Effingham.

Public graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Effingham, IL. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in St. Louis, Effingham FISH, or St. Paul ELCA in Altamont. Online condolences may be shared by clicking here.

Donna was born on January 22, 1938, in Jacksonville, IL, where she lived until she met and married Henry “Hank” Rohwedder, who preceded her in death in 2019. They were members of St. Paul ELCA in Altamont, IL.

Donna was an avid volunteer and donated her time in many capacities. She was a developing member of FISH and she stayed involved for many years. Alongside her husband, Donna was involved and supported the Shriners. Donna was a lifelong Girl Scout, even holding leadership roles with the Covered Bridge Girl Scouts Council. She was a substitute teacher, primarily in Teutopolis, for around 10 years before retiring. After retirement, Donna found a love for quilting. She also enjoyed her flowers. Donna and her husband Hank were members of the Little Wabash Camping Club.

Donna and Hank were parents of five children, Kathleen (Janice) Rohwedder, Zaelon “Ziggy” (Paula) Rohwedder, Kara (Randy) Haarmann, Kandra (Brian) Herzog, and Zane (Andee) Rohwedder; eight grandchildren, Lee Haarmann, Kelsey Haarmann Long, Alexander Hall, Abbagayle Hall, Emily Rohwedder, Kirstin Rohwedder Liddiard, William Rohwedder, and Matthew Rohwedder; nine great-grandchildren, Isabelle Habing, Avery Tonn, Porter Hille, Addilyn Hille, Kolbi Packard, Joel Liddiard, Holden DeWeese, Tate Long, and Connor Liddiard; and step-granddaughter, Darla Dye Eason.

She was also preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Miley; step-grandson, Jason Dye; and great-grandson, Hank Stanley Habing.
