Dr. Stanley J. Brumleve, age 98, Effingham IL, formerly of Grand Forks, ND, died on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at The Glenwood Assisted Living.

Stanley John was born July 3, 1924 in Teutopolis, IL, the beloved son of Albert and Mary (Dust) Brumleve. He was a member of the US Armed Forces from 1943-1946 and served as an officer in the US Air Force Reserves until 1950 when he retired as a 2nd Lieutenant. Stanley attended St. Louis University, graduating in 1955 with both a BS and MS in Biology. He went on to achieve his PhD in Pharmacology. He married his wife Mary Agnes Zelka on May 25, 1955. They moved to Grand Forks, ND in 1957. Dr. Brumleve taught at the ND School of Medicine, retiring in 1983, having been a faculty member for 33 years. He served as President and Director of the Grand Forks- TRAILL Water Users, Inc. which still supplies water to rural customers in the Grand Fork area. He was a respected scientist and businessman.

Stanley is survived by his sister, Mary Brumleve of Effingham; his children, 3 daughters, Theresa (William) McMillan of Jamestown, ND, Marcia (Craig) Kluck of Rochester, MN, and Cynthia (Alan) Wynne of Topeka, KS; and 1 son, Michael (Karen) Brumleve of Topeka, KS.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary; loving wife, Mary; brothers, Timothy Brumleve and George Brumleve; and sisters, Elisabeth Westjohn and Agnes Koester Wolf.

A private funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 with final burial services to be held in North Dakota at a later date. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family.
