Denzel Leroy Adamson, age 87, of Watson, Illinois passed away at 1:55 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with his wife by his side.

Funeral service will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Mason Christian Church in Mason, Illinois with a two-hour visitation prior to the service. Casual attire is requested by the family. Mark White will be officiating. Burial will be at Keen’s Chapel Cemetery in Farina. Memorials may go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Mason Christian Church, or the donor’s choice. Denzel was born on September 10, 1934 in Cumberland County, Illinois, the son of Hugh and Zelma (Duvall) Adamson. He married the love of his life, Arlene Byers, on December 31, 1963 in Effingham, Illinois. Denzel served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957. He was a member of the DAV and American Legion. He attended Mason Christian Church for several years. Denzel enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, farming, and was always working on a project; he was known for his ability to fix almost anything. His greatest joy was his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Arlene Adamson of Watson; son, Kent Robinson (wife Barb) of Mason; daughters, Denise Anderson (husband Brian) of Mason and Lynette Adamson (fiancé Paul LeBeau) of Watson; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Michelle; and five great-grandchildren, Logan, Leah, Bryant, Brent, and Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Zelma Adamson; three brothers; and three sisters.
