Beverly Sue Clark, 79, of Clay City, passed away peacefully at 9:40 pm Monday, August 15, 2022 at the Flora Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Flora.

Beverly was born on January 18, 1943 in Alton, Illinois the daughter of Glenn and Dorothy Mae (Current) Schoonover. She worked for World Color Press in Effingham for many years and retired from there. She married Gary Clark on October 20, 2007, at the Clay City Christian Church and they shared 14 years of marriage. Beverly was a member of the Clay City Christian Church. She was a very avid reader.

She is survived by her husband: Gary Clark of Clay City; 2 children: Joey (Pam) McKnelly of Louisville, Jana (Tim) Tolliver of Farina; 3 step children: Jack (Pam) Clark of Strasburg, Brad (Mandy) Clark of Louisville, Tamara Clark of Louisville; 2 grandchildren: Emily (Jake) Draege of Farina, Jordan (Serena) McKnelly of Louisville; 2 great grandchildren: Miller and Fallon Draege; 6 step grandchildren: Marcail Allen, Tanner Clark, Brady Clark, Lucy Clark, Alyssa Jeanes, Lunden Jeanes; 2 brothers: Daniel (Cora Jane) Schoonover of Mason, David (Ellen) Schoonover of Louisville.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Jody Lynn McKnelly; brothers: Richard “Butch” Schoonover, Phillip “Wayne” Schoonover.

Private family services will be held to remember the life of Beverly and burial will be at the Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Beverly’s memory to the Clay City Christian Church. The McGriff Funeral Home in Louisville is entrusted with the care and arrangements.
