Arthur Leo Pruemer (69) of Teutopolis

Arthur Leo Pruemer, 69, of Teutopolis, IL, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022, at his sister Alice Goeckner’s home surrounded by his loving family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Teutopolis. Burial will be at a later date in St. Francis Cemetery, Teutopolis. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Teutopolis, with a 5:00 p.m. Knights of Columbus Rosary and also one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church or Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Council 2874. Leo was born to Roger and Thelma (Holkenbrink) Pruemer on October 17, 1952. He graduated from Teutopolis High School in 1970 and from the University of Illinois in 1974. After college, he worked for GMAC for several years. Then he followed his true passion and became a life-long farmer. In addition to farming, he worked for his brother Mark at M&M Electric. He was married to Sherry (Hawbaker) Pruemer for 36 years, and they had 2 children, Rhett and Alena. He was blessed with 2 grandchildren, Noah and Lincoln and 2 step-grandchildren, Kaiden and Ethan. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Leo was a life-long member of St. Francis Parish and also a member of the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus.

Leo is survived by his wife, Sherry Pruemer of Teutopolis; children, Rhett (Jessica) Pruemer and Alena Pruemer (Nilo Giles); grandchildren, Noah and Lincoln; step-grandchildren, Kaiden and Ethan; brothers, Gene (Libby) Pruemer and Mark (Karen) Pruemer; sisters, Alice (Jerry) Goeckner and Linda (Mike) Wrincik; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Pruemer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Karl Pruemer.
