Lila Mae Gebben, 86, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Lila was born February 17, 1936, in Bishop Creek, IL, the daughter of Roman and Celia (Pals) Hartke. She married Raymond H. Gebben in 1958, and he preceded her in death on June 20, 1999.

Lila was active with the Girl Scouts and served in various capacities. She also was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Liquor Association.

Ms. Lila was the manager of K-Bowl for many years. She was an avid bowler and member of the Bowling Hall of Fame. She found joy traveling all over the country bowling in tournaments.

Lila is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Randy) Esch of Effingham; son, Randy (Edna “Anna”, deceased) Gebben of Effingham; grandchildren, Cody (Michaela) Esch of St. Louis, MO, Carly Esch of Effingham, Ryan (Valerie) Gebben of Effingham, and Bradley (Lizzie) Gebben of Green Bay, WI; great-grandchildren, Crew Esch, Viviana Gebben, and Rhett Gebben; and in-laws, Marcella Behrman, Sylvia Hartke, Viola Green, Eleanor Gebben, Judy Nosbisch, Sue Gebben, Andrew (Patricia) Gebben, and Sonny Hutmacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; daughter-in-law, Edna “Anna” Gebben; brothers, Gene, Floyd, Roy, and triplets, Donald, Dale, and Thomas; and sister, Linda Hutmacher.
