Judith Ann “Judy” (Granby) Lewis, age 71, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 4:06 PM Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.

Visitation celebrating Judy’s life will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Private burial will be in the Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler, Illinois. In loving memory of Judy, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Shrine Club. Judy was born on July 26, 1950, in Effingham Illinois, the daughter of Alfred “Bill” and Rozella Elizabeth (Portlock) Lewis. She graduated from Newton Community High School in 1968. Judy then attended Eastern Illinois University, graduating with a teaching degree. She later went on to earn her Master’s Degree. Judy returned to Jasper County to share her love of art with others. She taught Jasper County youth for over 30 years.

Judy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and spending her winters in Florida. Her lifelong passion was always art related. Judy was recognized by many as LUV ART 6.

Judy is survived by: 2 Children – Dustin Granby and Kristan (Jarad) Schackmann both of Newton, Illinois; 2 Grandchildren – Owen Schackmann and Liam Schackmann both of Newton, Illinois; 4 Sisters – Brenda Walker of Altamont, Illinois; Mary (John) Pickowitz of Mattoon, Illinois; Penny Lewis Springfield, Arkansas; and Julie Pitcher (Delbert Steffen) of Gila, Illinois; Loyal companion, her dog Rozie; Nephews - Lucas (Jenna) Pitcher, Angie (Leland) Brooke, Mallory Pickowitz, Sam Pickowitz, Sonny Pickowitz and Gary Pickowitz; Great nieces and nephews - Kayli Brooke, Kendall Brooke, Aiya Rose Pitcher.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brother-in-law Ben Pitcher, Mark Walker.
