John Sherman Sarver (71) of Cowden

John Sherman Sarver, 71, of Cowden, IL, passed away at 12:19 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2022 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Pastor Sid Hutchinson officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, Herrick, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
John was born on May 30, 1951 in Pana, IL, the son of Aldiff Franklin “Diff” and Barbara June (Huff) Sarver. He was a graduate of Herrick High School in the Class of 1969. John was a member of Holland Church and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, beekeeping, woodworking, fixing up old tractors and cars, drinking coffee with his friends and spending time with his beloved dog, Cabela.
John is survived by his daughter, Holly Jo Smith (Les) of Missouri; brother, Robert Sarver (Julia) of Cowden, IL; sisters, Rebecca Borah (Greg) of Shelbyville, IL, Ramona Richards (Bob) of Cowden, IL, and Melissa Mathis of Shelbyville, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Frank Sarver.
