Timothy Paul Mueller, 55, of Neoga entered into heaven at 5:15am Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.
Tim was born on July 10, 1966, in Effingham, Il to Earl and Doris (Stuemke) Mueller. After graduating from Effingham High School and finishing a degree in automotive at Lake Land College, Tim married Lisa Nichols on a very hot August 18, 1990. Later, they were blessed with two girls, Allison and Rebecca (Allison he liked the best and Rebecca well they stopped at perfection she says) Tim was a man of many hats. To list a few: he was a co-captain for the volunteer fire dept for Neoga, truck driver of many years, the king of no sleep working nights and being a part of his daughters extracurricular activities by day, substitute school bus driver, secret baker of all kinds of sweets, and everyone’s favorite track and cross country coach.
Tim leaves behind his wife Lisa Mueller of Neoga, Illinois; daughters Allison Pemberton (Broc) of Neoga, and Rebecca Mueller (Damon McNeill) of Neoga; grandchildren Roscoe, Reed, and Rory Pemberton; his mother Doris Mueller of Effingham, and father in law Roscoe Nichols of Neoga.
He was preceded in death by his father Earl Mueller and brother Danny Mueller.
Tim was known more as a Coach than anything else. He coached track and cross country for 20 years at Neoga High School and never was this just a job to him. He has touched more lives in 20 years than one could in a whole lifetime. Tim had such a young heart and could connect with students better than anyone else. His passion for the sport is what he would breathe into the students and in return they would give him back so much kindness and dedication. His teams were truly his family away from family. Family was important to Tim and if you ever ran into him then you know how he loved to tell stories about his grandkids RossyP, Reed Machine, and Pebbles. He bonded with the boys over tractors and all things with a motor, and of course Papa Tim would never turn down a snack time with his little girl. He also enjoyed running the St. Jude Memphis Half Marathon with his wife and daughters and driving them anywhere they asked to go on a weekend trip (or at least we think he enjoyed it) To sum up for all his athletes one last time “Keep our bodies strong and feet swift.” This special man will be missed by all who have had the opportunity to meet him. Memorials are suggested to the Crossroads Cancer Center in Effingham and the Neoga Fire Dept.
