Michael G. Tarrant, 65, of Effingham, IL, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Rentfrow Cemetery in Shumway. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Johnson Funeral Home for funeral expenses. Michael was born on September 18, 1956 in Effingham, IL, the son of Jesse and Madonna (Hildebrand) Tarrant. Michael spent many years working at Fedders and Sherwin Williams. He had a passion for fishing and found joy sight-seeing, especially in Southern Illinois. Michael enjoyed watching westerns and Fox News. He also loved to cook and enjoyed a good bowl of ice cream. Michael valued his time spent with his family and grandchildren.
Michael is survived by his children, Travis Tarrant (April) of Marion, IL, Sara (Isaac) Mathis of Watson, IL; grandchildren, Gage, Kirstan, Tristen, Adiston, Winstynn, Caitlyn, Michael, Abigail, and Oliver; greatgrandchildren, Rhett, Madilyn, and Rusher; brother, Tom (Julie) Tarrant; sister-in-law, Karen Tarrant; and nieces, Andrea and Kimberly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Stanley Tarrant and Lloyd Tarrant; granddaughter, Isabell.
