Frederick was born on July 11, 1952, in Washington, IN, the son of Billy Joe and Eva Mae (Cannon) Babrick. He married Teresa (Ursery) Bridges on October 9, 1993 in Effingham.

Fred received his Bachelor and Master of Education from Indiana State University, and he was always fond of sharing stories about his memorable times as a student on campus. His passion for education led him to teach as a 4-6th grade teacher for 25 years. Fred and Teresa owned and operated a home daycare for the remainder of his life. He was a devoted father, and shared memories with his son, Freddie, of cheering on the Colts at their games, camping, watching IU v Illinois basketball games and fun trips. Fred shared 28 years of marriage with Teresa, who he loved to spoil and would often sing “You are So Beautiful” to her. Fred was blessed with a large and loving family, surrounded by his many grandchildren whom he adored. Those around him knew to always have a comeback ready for his cheesy jokes. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with family. He will be deeply missed as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, teacher, and friend.

Fred is survived by his wife, Teresa Babrick of Effingham; children, Freddie (fiancée, Hannah Piggush) Babrick of Effingham, Shanna (Geoff) Lewis of Effingham, Jason (Shelly) Bridges of Parker, CO, Jeremy (Angelique) Bridges of Effingham, and Justin (Jessica) Bridges of Effingham; 17 grandchildren; and brothers, Jerry (Brenda) Babrick, Billy (Beth) Babrick, Larry Babrick, Alan (Linda) Babrick, and Rodney (Jamie) Babrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
