Carmen D. Frost, 71, of Louisville passed away peacefully at 2:39 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

Carmen was born on September 1, 1950, in Flora, the daughter of Jason and Georgia (Ray) Porter. She married Doug Frost on October 26, 1973, in Effingham, Illinois and they shared 48 years of marriage. She worked many various jobs over the years, including owning and operating the Iola Café for about 5 years. Doug and Carmen were over-the-road truck drivers for several years. Carmen was also a tremendous cook. She loved to cook for others and is known most for her cinnamon rolls or pies. She also took joy in gardening and just spending time with her grandkids. She loved being on Facebook spending many hours on there keeping in touch with others. She just truly loved people and loved being around others. Carmen was a member of the Louisville Christian Church.

Carmen is survived by her husband Doug Frost, of Louisville, their daughter; Brandi (Andy) Wood, of Buchanan, Tennessee, 2 grandchildren; Quinton (Derrian) Wood, and Dalton Wood. She is also survived by a sister; Linda (Dan) McKinney, of Effingham, and several nieces and great nieces and nephews.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, and one son; J.L. Frost.

It was Carmen’s wishes for cremation and a memorial service honoring the life of Carmen Frost will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Louisville Christian Church with Gary Kuhlig officiating. There will be a time in the service for family and friends to share memories and stories of Carmen’s life. A meal will follow the service at 4:30 at the Louisville Christian Church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make a donation in Carmen’s memory to either Oil Belt Christian Service Camp or the American Cancer Society.
