Patricia Ann “Pat” Wendt, 92 of Effingham, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at Heartland Senior Living in Neoga.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Greek Creek, with burial in the church cemetery. Pat’s family will pray the rosary at 4:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the church and from 9:30 a.m. to time of mass Saturday in the parish hall. Memorial donations may be given to the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Pat was born December 25, 1929 in Montrose, the daughter of Ermund F. and Agnes C. (Swingler) Flach. She married Bernard A. “Bernie” Wendt, son of Aloysius H. and Johanna A. (Renschen) Wendt, on October 25, 1952 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Effingham. Pat was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Green Creek, the Council of Catholic Women and Effingham Catholic Daughters of America. She was a past member of the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary and past member of Eucharist Adoration at the St. Anthony Hospital Chapel. Pat was a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was well-known for her pies, cinnamon rolls and other baked goods.

Pat is survived by her sons, Brian (Chris) of Effingham, James of Effingham, Warren of Teutopolis and Fred of Effingham; daughters, Brenda (Dick) Henry of Teutopolis and Pam (Howard) Will of Sigel; daughter-in-law, Debra of Effingham; son-in-law, Rick Addis of Montrose; sisters-in-law, Millie Wendt, Verena Allen, Mary Lou Flach and Janice Flach; 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Lisa Addis; son, Larry; granddaughter, Laura Henry; brothers, Adrian (Alice), Denis and Timothy Flach; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Virgil (Vivian) Wendt, Connie Wendt, Audrey (Bob) Walk, Mary (Bob) Swingler, Al Wendt and Morris Allen.
