Diana M. Stephens, 76, of Cowden, IL passed away at 11:28 a.m. on Friday, December 24, 2021, in Pana Community Hospital in Pana, IL.

Diana was born on February 13, 1945, in Vandalia, the daughter of Harold and Vera Marie (Moutrey) Braughton. Diana and Richard C. Stephens were married on November 20, 1984 and were blessed with 37 years of marriage. Together Diana and Richard owned and operated Richard Stephens Trucking in Cowden for 15 years. She enjoyed the outdoors whether it be camping, fishing or tending to the family’s horses. She also enjoyed crafting and spending time with her loved ones.

Diana leaves behind one son, Ken Cox of Cowden; three daughters: Vicki Kennedy of Cowden, Michelle (John) Ronek of Decatur and Renee (Dave) Rogers of Mt. Zion; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters: Dora (Bill) Davison of Vandalia and Dana Darlene Smith of Rosiclare; brothers: Clarence “Bud” Dively of Brownstown, Chuck Richards of Sterling and Terry (Loretta) Richards of Vandalia and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Harold and Vera Marie Braughton; loving husband, Richard Stephens who passed on December 18, 2021; grandson, Brandon; great-granddaughter, Keeley; sister, Karen Ross and special family member, Dorothy Richards.

A memorial gathering for friends and family of Richard and Diana will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022, in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden. Masonic rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. by the Greenland Masonic Lodge #665 of Beecher City followed by a memorial service with Pastor Antonio Sutton officiating.
