Darlene Buhrmann, 81, of Louisville passed away at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, with her loving family by her side.

Darlene was born on March 2, 1940, in Clay County, Illinois the daughter of Clinton Earl and Blanche (Lister) Weidner. She married Kenneth Buhrmann, on February 6, 1960, in Edgewood, Illinois and they shared 60 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on June 20, 2020. Darlene was a homemaker and worked with Kenny at Ken’s Sunoco, in Louisville, and Ken’s Tire in Flora which they owned for many years. She was a vary talented painter and floral designer for many of the family members. In her early years she loved to sing, and she was a very good cook through out her life. Darlene was a member of the Louisville Methodist Church, in Louisville.

She is survived by her children; John H. (Julie) Buhrmann, of Louisville, Rhonda R. Mills, of Louisville, 6 grandchildren; Tanya, Jessica, Rebecca, Maria, Andrea, Jason, 13 great grandchildren; Connor, Madison, Katlyn, Chayse, Masyn, Rhett, Hudson, Hendrick, Jasmin, Ava, Isabella, Olivia, Christian. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Mrs. Buhrmann was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law; Danny Mills, 3 brothers; Henry, Ransom, Robert, sister; Winnabelle, niece; Marilyn.

Funeral services honoring the life of Darlene will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville with Brent Bailey officiating, burial will follow at the Red Brush Cemetery, Louisville. Visitation will be held on Monday evening at the funeral home where friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Darlene’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted through the funeral home.
