Dennis J. Pike (59) of Effingham

Dennis J. Pike, 59, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021 at Indiana University Health Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 9-11 Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Schools. Online condolences may be left by clicking here. 

Dennis was born on June 28, 1962, in Effingham, the son Harold and Patricia (Smith) Pike. He married Jeanne Bourgeois on October 23, 1982 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham.

Dennis was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He was employed at Rush Truck Centers for 20 years. Dennis enjoyed farming and spending time with family, especially the grandkids He also enjoyed grilling out for Sunday dinners and Friday night Fish Frys. He was always willing to help anyone and enjoyed having a cold one with neighbors and friends.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Jeanne; daughter, Carrie Bartimus (Aaron); sons, Chad Pike (Lisa) and Cory Pike; grandkids, Bryn, Bryson and Brylee Bartimus, and Luke, Matt and Reagan Pike; mother, Patricia Pike; sister, Cindy Frauli (Tom); brother, David Pike (Valerie); parents-in-law, Ralph and Ruth Bourgeois; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Steve (Sherri, deceased) Bourgeois, Debbie (Kenny) Pike, Ken (Kathy) Bourgeois, and Sharon (Tom, deceased) Doehring; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Pike; grandparents, Joseph and Emma (Hoelscher) Pike, Harold Smith, and Gertrude (Cornell) Smith; brother-in-law, Tom Doehring; and sister-in-law, Sherri Bourgeois.
