Mary E. Stuckey, 68, of Effingham, Illinois, while surrounded by loved ones, passed from the troubles of this world and was welcomed into her eternal home Tuesday, November 16, 2021. 

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 23 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, November 22 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Please wear a mask for all services and follow social distancing guidelines. Mary had a sweet tooth and loved to bake and was known by her perfect cookies, amazing breads, cake-pops, peanut-butter fudge, and delicious caramels. When she wasn’t spoiling everyone with her confections, she loved to craft, paint, and do household finishing work. She was affectionately known as Nini and Grandma Mary by her grandkids and many miles were spent traveling to see them.

Mary was loved and thought of fondly by her husband James Stuckey of Effingham; son, Adam and Affton Walden, and their children Austin, Aubrey, Allie, and Ashleigh Walden of Troy; step-daughter, Stacy and Jeremy Pokorny, and their children Alyssa, Haley, and Kaitlyn Pokorny of Troy; siblings and in-laws, Donna (Phil) Kuhl, Carol (Wendell) Hahn, Debra Rubsam, Julie (Ed) Girhard, Jerry (Vicki) Rubsam, Cindy (Randy) Gorrell, Richard (Mendy) Rubsam, Karen (Joe) Platz, Ken (Mary) Stuckey, and Debbie West; nephews and nieces; and friends and neighbors. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank “Popeye” and Marilyn Rubsam of Newton; sister, Diane Rubsam; parents-in-law, Norbert and Ruth Stuckey; sister-in-law, Linda Westjohn; and brother-in-law, Gene Stuckey.
