Wanda (Brooks) Brackett (95) of Phoenix, Arizona, and formerly of Tucson, Arizona, and Jasper County

Wanda (Brooks) Brackett, age 95, of Phoenix, Arizona, and formerly of Tucson, Arizona, and Jasper County, Illinois, passed away at 10:30 PM Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Rick Britton officiating.  Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service. Wanda was born on July 17, 1926, in Jasper County, Illinois, the daughter of Victor and Beulah (Cox) Brooks.

She married Cloyce Brackett on September 30, 1944 and he preceded her in death on August 28, 1997.

Wanda was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newton, Illinois.  She had worked for many years at Newton Rest Haven.

Wanda is survived by:

Children- Alan Brackett of Phoenix, Arizona and Jerry wife Darlene Brackett of Converse, Texas

Grandchildren- Tom Brackett of Phoenix, Arizona and Eric Engelking of Katy, Texas

Great grandchild- Joseph Engelking

Brother- Larry wife Connie Brooks of Newton, Illinois

Sister- Sharon Gerber of Champaign, Illinois

Wanda was preceded in death by her siblings Herbert, Richard, Kenneth, Harold, Ralph, Betty and Patricia as well as daughter-in-law Karen Brackett.
