Terry M. Alsip (72) of Shelbyville

Terry M. Alsip, 72, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021, in HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. 

Terry was born on March 22, 1949, in Metropolis, the son of William and Eva (Farmer) Alsip.  He married Catherine Ann Miner on July 20, 1968, and they were blessed with 53 years of marriage.  Terry worked for Caterpillar in Joliet for 30 years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards and bowling.  Terry always looked forward to “the guys” annual fishing trip to Lake Erie.  

Surviving are his three children: Nick (Mari) Alsip of Joliet, Terry Alsip Jr. of Shelbyville and Melissa (Bob) Farrell of Joliet; seven grandchildren: Brittany, Tori, Matt, Cody, Katelyn, Robert Jr., and Alejandro; two great-grandchildren: Ayden and Logan; three siblings: Sherry (Alan) Butterfield of Shorewood, Ann Blazekovich of Traverse City, MI and Randy (Amber) Alsip of Leland, MI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, Jim Alsip.

A gathering to celebrate Terry’s life will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville.  Memorials may be made to the Illinois DNR-Wolf Creek.  Lockart-Green Funeral Home is assisting the family.
