Georgia was born on June 12, 1934 in Rural Jasper County, Illinois the daughter of George Edward and Cleda Alice (Foltz) Stewart. She graduated from Newton Community High School, Class of 1951. She married LaVern Knepper on September 22, 1951 and he preceded her in death on September 30, 2013. Georgia loved being a farm wife to LaVern and mother to her three children. She enjoyed life on the farm, gardening, canning and tending her flowers. When she had cared for those she loved, she found time to enjoy her hobbies, reading, writing, quilting, mushroom hunting and playing on the Tuesday night and Wednesday morning Ladies bowling league at Parklanes in Newton. Georgia had a servant’s heart; she was very active in her church, attending the Latona Church of Christ and most recently as a member of the Central Christian Church. She would be the first one to help with a special program, or at vacation bible school, make meals for those in need, organize a funeral dinner or ensure the neighbors’ donations were gathered to purchase funeral flowers. Her love for the Lord and her love for those around her is a legacy that will forever live on.
