Louise Rose Nuxoll, 78, of Effingham, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at home with her family by her side.

Louise was born on April 2, 1943 in Effingham, Illinois the daughter of Urban and Rose (Bierman) Mammoser. She married Joseph W. Nuxoll on April 4, 1964 in Island Grove, Illinois, and they spent 57 years together building a wonderful life and family.

She is survived by her husband, Joe of Effingham; daughters, Barbara Ochoa (Sergio) of Vernon Hills, Illinois and Debbie Nuxoll of Roselle, Illinois and son, Greg Nuxoll (Deana) of Effingham; seven grandchildren including Megan, Jack, Grant and Addison Nuxoll of Effingham, and Elena, Anna and Elizabeth Ochoa of Vernon Hills, Illinois; brothers, Alvin Mammoser (Darlene) of Island Grove, Illinois and John Mammoser (Pat) of Wentzville, Missouri; sister, Anna Keck (Vincent “Bing”) of Neoga, Illinois; and sisters-in-law, Pauline Goldstein of Effingham and Theresa Nuxoll of Effingham.

Louise retired from Grunloh Construction after more than 25 years. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She enjoyed relaxing on her patio, going on vacation, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the Fighting Illini, doing jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards and games. Above all else, she loved her family and watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Urban and Rose Mammoser; and an infant brother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be at St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. It is recommended to please wear a mask for all services and practice social distancing guidelines.
