Tommy Joe Ballard, 64, of Louisville passed away peacefully at 5:20 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, at his son’s home in rural Louisville.

He was born on August 15, 1957, in Flora, the son of Benny and Cora (Combs) Ballard of Louisville. Tommy worked in the oil field in his early years, later to come home and help his dad on the family farm, and worked for Bob Bailey Farms. He enjoyed attending his grandkids sporting events, collecting toy tractors, and hanging out at Casey’s. His love for his grandkids was immeasurable.

He is survived by his parents, Benny and Cora Ballard; 2 sons, Ryan (Crystal) Ballard, Kevin (Chelsea) Clark; 3 daughters, Sarah (Rich) Matlock, Stephanie (Joel) Hemphill, Stacey Blair; special friend, Debbie Johnson; sister, Theresa Traub. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hanna Ballard, Collyn Ballard, Miah Ballard, William Ballard, Spencer Clark, Hazel Clark, Otto Clark, Trey Walker, Talon Hemphill, Gabby Blair, Evan Lake, Reed Lake, Johnny Leonard, Andrew Leonard.

Tommy was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Michael Traub.

Funeral services honoring the life of Tommy will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville with Jim Helm officiating, burial will follow at Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the funeral home where friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Farm Bureau’s Crops for Kids or the North Clay FFA Chapter.
