Stephanie Kay Newton, 35, of Cowden passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 from an accident in which her special friend, Kacy Alday, passed away also.

Stephanie was born on October 11, 1985, in Farmington, MO, to Kenny and Tonya (Hovis) Cathey. She was the best mother in the world who loved her kids and would do anything for them. She was a loving, caring and giving sister and friend who was always helping others. She was the glue that held her siblings together after the death of their own parents at a young age. Always the life of the party. She loved to laugh and play pranks on people.

She is survived by her children: Mackenzie, Dayton, Braynton, Makayleigh and Zoey Newton and Addison Alday of Moweaqua and Mary Jo Cathey of Toledo; brothers: Garry Courtney, Phil Courtney and Kenny Cathey; sisters: Jennifer Cathey and Rebecca Wagner; grandmother, Rose William of Toledo and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and niece, Chloe West.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden with Sid Hutchison officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Mound Cemetery in rural Cowden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden is assisting the family.
