Donald "Don" E. Davidson (74) of Neoga

Donald "Don" E. Davidson, 74,  of Neoga, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at the Kindred Hospital Peoria in Peoria, Illinois.

He was born September 26, 1946, in Decatur, Illinois the son of Rex Loggans and Norma Jean (Nash) Davidson. Donald married Peggy Arlene Fryman on November 8, 1969, in Neoga, Illinois.  He proudly served in the United States Navy and was retired from the Hostess Brands Company. Mr. Davidson was a Life Member of the Mattoon American Legion Post 88, and a Life Member of the Mattoon VFW Post 4325 both of Mattoon, Illinois.  Donald enjoyed camping, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends.

He leaves his wife, Peggy Davidson of Neoga, Illinois; sons, Eric Davidson (Jill) of Charleston, Illinois and Chad Davidson (Krista) of Tiffin, Iowa; five grandchildren, Emily Davidson, Timothy Davidson, Henry Davidson, Abigail Davidson, and Charles Davidson; half-sisters, Debbie Tucker of Montana, Pamela Cearlock (Larry) of Harristown, Illinois and Wanda Bridges (Jim) of Mattoon, Illinois; step-sister, Wanda Brown (Paul) of Michigan; uncle, Alan Nash of Decatur, Illinois; sister in law, Patricia Miller and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Davidson was preceded in death by his parents; adopted parents, Marion "Dave" and Edith Davidson; stepbrother, Gene Miller and nephew, Rick Miller. 

As per Don's wishes Cremation Rites will be accorded and a Celebration Of Life will be held at  11:00 AM Thursday, August 26, 2021, in the Swengel - O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 25, 2021, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery in Neoga, Illinois with Military Honors by the Mattoon V.F.W. Post 4325.
