Olive E. Woolard age 81, of Newton passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021, surrounded by family at her daughter’s home in Olney, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating Olive’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Newton with Rev. Steve Willis officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Friday in the church. Burial will be in the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Newton.

Olive was born on December 20, 1939 in Granite City, Illinois the daughter of Emlyn and Marie (Cadwell) Evans. Olive worked for Ettlebrick Shoe Company in Greenup for many years. Later, she was a home healthcare provider with Addis Home Care until her retirement. Olive was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newton and attended New Beginnings Church with her daughter and family.

In her free time, Olive enjoyed attending the area festivals, playing cards games and Yahtzee. She also enjoyed watching television, especially Bonanza, The Waltons and game shows. She loved being a grandmother and spending time with her family.

Olive will be loved and remembered by her daughters Caroline (Sam) Davis of Olney and Eugenia (Todd) Patterson of Newton; grandchildren Chassidy Roberts, Crystal Lutz, Elizabeth Reyes, Robert Liston, Brandy Bare, Ridge Davis, Ashley Wilson, Lacy Grapperhaus, and Joshua Patterson; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, brother Richard Evans, sisters and brothers-in-law Joan and John Field and Ruth and Lowell Beck and great grandchild Destiny Patterson preceded her in death.

Memorial gifts in honor of Olive may be made to the First Baptist Church.
