Melody Morrison (67) of Altamont

Melody Morrison, 67, of Altamont, died at 8:25 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church, Altamont with Rev. John Taliwaga officiating. Burial will follow at Arborcrest Memorial Park, Effingham. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2021 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society, EARS or the donor’s choice.

Covid-19 protocol including, but not limited to face covering and social distancing will be required at all times while in the funeral home.

Melody K. Morrison was born on Tuesday, January 26, 1954 in Effingham to Hubert W. and Bernadine ‘Bunny’ (Coleman) Smith. She married Dennis Morrison. Melody was affiliated with the Methodist Church and was a Unit 10 CUSD bus driver. She loved her bus kids, the special needs kids and driving the teams to their sporting events.

Melody is survived by: her mother, Bunny Smith of Altamont, sons, Beau (Stephanie) Morrison of Altamont and Chance Morrison of Altamont; sister, Sherry (John) Robertson of Altamont; her 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Quinn and Liam.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father.
