Cary Dean Lockart, 65, of Shelbyville, IL, left this earth without warning or concern on Sunday, July 25, 2021 in the comfort of his home.

Cary was born on May 29, 1956, in Shelbyville, the son of Leslie Vance and Ella Marie (Gelsinger) Lockart. Cary spent his childhood enjoying country living with his family. The Lockart family would spend every weekend at their farm in Vandalia tending to their flower and vegetable gardens before returning to Shelbyville on Sunday evening to prepare for the upcoming week. Cary had a love for little league and fishing in his early years. His first jobs were working for Bethel Mars at Dogs N Suds and Helen Gingrey at J&H Tropical Fish and Supplies, both in Shelbyville. It was his passion for aquariums and tropical fish that drew him to work at J&H Tropical Fish and Supplies. Cary was a graduate of Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1974. He then received his Associate Degree in Accounting from Lake Land College in Mattoon before joining the workforce at International Paper, now known as Graphic Packaging, in 1985, where he remained for nearly 35 years.  He was also an avid coin collector and treasured time spent with loved ones. Cary was gentle, kind, generous, honest, soft spoken, filled with love of life and had a true concern for others. Cary was a deeply devoted Pops and a caring and loyal son, brother, uncle and friend. The world was a better place with him in it and he will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends.

He leaves behind his sister, Karen (Jeff) Corley; nephew, Quintin Corley; niece, Crystal (Brandon) Kopis; great-niece, Brynlee Marie Kopis and great-nephew, Bennett Michael Kopis, all of Lancaster, OH; son, Michael Breedlove; grandchildren: Ryker Stiles, Asher Kole, Zavrie Steele and Fallon Elizabeth, all of Pana.
