Carl E. Finfrock (76) of Altamont

Carl E. Finfrock, 76, of Altamont, IL passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at his home.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Private burial will be held in Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham.

Carl was born on March 7, 1945 in Effingham, IL, the son of Clarence and Mildred (Burger) Finfrock. He married Cheryl Tyner on October 15, 1967, in Effingham. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2013.

Carl served as a Sergeant in the Army National Guard. He was a manager at IGA in Effingham for over 20 years. He later worked in sales and store setup with JM Jones Foods, which later became SuperValu. Carl eventually retired with Lewis Bakery out of Vincennes, IN, as the Plant Manager. Carl loved his flowers, birds, fishing, and FOX News. He always enjoyed the family fishing trips to Canada. Carl also enjoyed shooting his guns. Most importantly, Carl was a family man and valued the time spent together.

Carl is survived by his sister, Rita Moore; niece, Kim (Andy) Fritz and her family; great-nephew, Justin (Jessica) Finfrock and their children Tyler and Kamryn; cousin, Linda Finfrock-Conway; and many other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cheryl; and daughter, Shawn Finfrock.
