Donald H. Heuerman, 91, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021 at his home in Teutopolis surrounded by his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the church, followed by a parish wake service. Don was born April 5, 1930 in Teutopolis, the son of Arnold and Frances (Kenter) Heuerman. He married Carol A. Niemeyer on July 30, 1960 in Teutopolis and she survives. Don served six years with the United States Army National Guard during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for Siemer Milling Co., National Building Systems and Effingham Truck Sales. Don was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Teutopolis American Legion Post #924, was a fourth-degree member of the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus and a retired Teutopolis firefighter.

Don is survived by his wife, Carol of Teutopolis; children, LeAnn (Rich) Heiden of Altamont, Dave (Cheryl) of Teutopolis and Lisa (Andy) Jansen of Neoga; 13 grandchildren, Jill (Zachary) Wolff, Jodi (Curt) Frost, Jenna (Adam) Tedrick, Justin Heiden (fiancé, Samantha Morrison), Jamie (John) Burton, Kelly (John) Arrotti, Lee Jansen, Eric Jansen, Kristen (Aaron) Snyder, Kyle (Jill) Heuerman, Courtney (Michael) Voigts, Tara Heuerman and Lauren Heuerman; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Barb Cornell of Teutopolis, Jeanne (Joe) Hoene of Sigel and Rita (Maurice) Kemme of Effingham; sister-in-law, Shirley Heuerman of Effingham.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe Heuerman, Melvin Heuerman, Kenneth (Mary) Heuerman and Harold Jurgens; sister, Carol Ann (John) Hartke; brother-in-law, Richard Cornell.
