Patricia Beryl “Pat” Way, age 93, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 1:05 PM Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Newton Care Center in Newton, Illinois.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ste. Marie, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 AM at the church. In loving memory of Pat, donations may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund, Po Box 333, Newton, Illinois 62448. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Patricia better known as “Pat” was born on March 25, 1927, in Willow Hill, Illinois, the daughter of Perry and Florence (Stiffel) Ping. She married John Way on July 14, 1945 and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2005. Pat was a bookkeeper for many years at Keller Oil Company. She was a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois. Pat enjoyed toll painting and visiting with family and friends.

Pat is survived by: Son – Tony (Donna) Way of Springfield, Illinois; Grandchildren – Jay Way, Patricia (Shane) Yates, Paula (Joe) Pickle and Mike (Dawn) Pickle; 8 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great-great Grandchildren; Brother – Larry Ping of Olney, Illinois; Sister-in-law – Wanda Ping of Oblong, Illinois.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Carol Jean Way, brother Perry Ping and a sister Mary Jean Huss.
