Harold Dean Debolt, 77, of Iuka, IL passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Dean was born on October 28, 1943, in Shelbyville, the son of Arlie and Lorene (Walls) Debolt. He was a 1961 graduate of Stew-Stras High School. Dean and Lois Stodden were united in holy matrimony on June 28, 1969 and were blessed with 25 years of marriage before her passing on August 1, 1994. Dean was an Engineer in the Salem area for most of his working career. He retired from B&L Machine & Design in Effingham. Dean was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a harness horse racing fan and owner. He was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association and the Illinois Harness Horseman Association.

Surviving are brothers-in-law: Laverne (Jane) Stodden of LaSalle, Leo (Rosario) Stodden of Chicago, Charles Stodden of Trilla, Melvin (Sara) Stodden, Wayne (Pat) Stodden and Mark (Dana) Stodden, all of Sigel; sisters-in-law: Joyce Stuckey of Mattoon, Janice (Walt) Townsend of Geff, Renee (Joe) Harris of CA, Lorraine (Steve) Mozley of Springfield, Norma Jones and Doris (John) Wiedman of Effingham and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Lois; sister, Helen Followell; in-laws, Frances and Ruth Stodden; brothers-in-law: Henry Followell, Albert Stodden and Robert Stuckey; sister-in-law, Connie Stodden; two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson with Pastor David Ducommon officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Stewardson Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Dean’s name to the American Breast Cancer Foundation and mailed to Brummerstedt Funeral Home, 302 W. Main St., Shelbyville, IL 62565. Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson is assisting the family.
