Brenda Lee (Hamilton) Shamhart, age 58, of Wheeler, Illinois, passed away at 1:35 AM Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, Illinois.
Funeral services celebrating the Brenda’s life will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, June 26, 2021, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, with Mike Knepper officiating. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery in Latona, Illinois. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service. In loving memory of Brenda, memorials may be made to the family. Brenda Lee was born on March 28, 1963, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the daughter of James Wayne Hamilton, Sr. and Dixie Karen (Dale) Hamilton. Brenda loved people, and helping veterans, she was always looking to help and volunteer where needed. She worked at the American Legion Post #30 in Olney, Illinois for several years. She was active in the American Legion Post #30 Ladies Auxiliary, having served as President and Vice President and the Olney Eagles.
Brenda is survived by- Husband- Jimmy Shamhart of Wheeler, Illinois; Children - Heather J. Johnson, Newton, Illinois; Donald Johnson of Noble, Illinois; Jonathan B. Tyler of Claremont, Illinois; Travis D. Tyler of Noble, Illinois and Bridget Tyler of Olney, Illinois; Brother - Jim (Dolly) Hamilton of Hunt City, Illinois; Sisters - Tina (Michael) Cole of Jewett, Illinois and Karen Koester of Taylorville, Illinois; 13 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and her niece Mika Leann Judy.
