She was born January 23, 1933, in Holiday, the daughter of Glen and Alta (Miller) Brunk. Betty and Kenneth Arnold were married April 7, 1955, in Kentucky, and were blessed with 58 years of marriage. The Lord came first in Betty’s life. She was an active and longstanding member of the Fourth Street Church of Christ of Effingham. Then came raising and caring for her husband, children and grandchildren. She dearly loved her family and will be greatly missed by all. Betty also loved to volunteer in the community. She volunteered with St. Anthony’s Hospital Auxiliary for over 40 years. She enjoyed helping in the gift shop and delivering papers throughout the hospital and visiting with everyone. She also volunteered at the Senior Center resale shop for many years. Betty did not have a driver’s license, so after Ken’s passing, she could often be found walking everywhere she needed to go. There were many kind people who offered rides, but she often refused as she genuinely loved to walk.

Surviving are her children: Rita (Mark) Miller, Karen (Gary) Buehnerkemper, Darrell Arnold, Diane Arnold and Kevin Arnold; grandchildren:  Richard Arnold, Rachel Pace, Amber Cekander, Aaron Baker, Carrie Jannis, Jessica Meyer, Jordan Meyer, Hannah Traub and Jolie Churchwell; 25 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and brother, Delmar (Gloria) Brunk.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Arnold and grandson, Steve Arnold.
